Sycamore Academy Celebrates Chinese Partnership

4th July 2016

Sycamore Academy is celebrating a partnership with a Chinese school and establishing a very positive link.  Between 4th – 8th July 2016 Sycamore is hosting 25 pupils, the principal and two teachers from the Jiaochuan (COR) Central Primary School in the Zhenhai District of Ningbo City and both schools are signing an official partnership document.  This visit makes Sycamore the first school in Nottingham to host Chinese pupils and staff.

As part of the week of celebrations, the Chinese pupils are spending time learning alongside their English friends during classes and are taking part in musical performances.

The Headteacher of Sycamore, Paul Worley, said ‘We are proud to become a truly international school and we feel privileged to be able to host our Chinese visitors and develop links with schools across the world.  We are extremely excited about our new partnership with Jiaochuan Central Primary in China.  We are looking forward to hosting the students and staff and welcoming everyone into the Sycamore community.  I am sure we have a lot to gain from sharing best practice and the children are very excited at the thought of making new friends.’
