The Governors of St Ann’s Well Academy are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of raising standards in upper Key Stage 2 to lead our Year 5 and 6 team. The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a critical part in the future growth of our Academy as we continue to strive to improve the quality of the outcomes for our pupils and families.

The successful candidate will be required to be a role model exemplifying outstanding practice and promoting excellence to colleagues within the Year 5 and 6 team, and will continually demonstrate a commitment to raise standards and accelerate learning. Initially this post will be based with a Year 6 class-based responsibility whilst the leadership role is evolved to meet the strengths of the successful candidate and the needs of the school.

We seek an Assistant Head Teacher who:

  • Has a strong understanding of outstanding learning, especially in Literacy and Numeracy;
  • Has the ability to identify, share, coach and promote outstanding practice;
  • Believes in the potential of all;
  • Is able to support the Head Teacher in implementing the vision of the school;
  • Has experience of leading and motivating effective teams;
  • Has excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Is able to prioritise, use initiative and work under pressure.
