Windmill L.E.A.D. Academy (primary)

This role would be ideally suited to a forward thinking school leader who is looking to develop their own practice in a collaborative and supportive partnership. The potential rewards are enormous. Windmill is a vibrant, multi-cultural, inner city primary school dedicated to attaining high standards for its pupils. The successful candidate will need to have exceptional leadership skills and work in partnership with the Executive Headteacher to lead the school forward to its next stage of development.

The Head of School will lead the day-to-day running of the academy, lead the strategic development of teaching and learning across school and provide an outstanding role model for all. The Head of School will be supported in their role by the Executive Headteacher who has been leading the school since September 2012.  The level and nature of support will be determined by the successful candidate’s previous experience.

Windmill L.E.A.D. Academy will open on 1st February, replacing Windmill Primary & Nursery School. The school will be sponsored by the L.E.A.D. Multi-Academy Trust, which has been supporting the school since September 2012.

The school is rapidly improving and is a genuinely enjoyable place in which to work.  The school was recently praised by Ofsted (Nov ’12) for the rapid improvements it has already made.

We are looking for someone who:-

  • Is an outstanding practitioner who can raise standards with proven experience of accelerating progress.
  • Is an inspirational teacher who can lead by example.
  • Has proven experience of whole school leadership and the ability to communicate a clear vision for school improvement.
  • Is an outstanding team player.
  • Has the ability to work with inner city children with a variety of needs.
  • Has the ability to work as part of a forward looking strategic leadership team.

  • Wednesday 16th January – 1.30pm
  • Friday 18th January – 1.30pm
