This is a one-year temporary post initially but may be extended.

Windmill L.E.A.D. Academy is a vibrant inner city school that was graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection in January 2015. The changes at senior leadership have ensured that the school has embarked on a new era with great positivity and determination to move the school forward. Windmill is a vibrant inner city school with a dedicated team who are working tirelessly to improve the outcomes of children.  

The school is undergoing a huge refurbishment plan which will see a complete remodelling of the front of the school and improvement of the teaching facilities. The school benefits immensely from being a member of a very forward looking and inclusive Trust where children can take part in STEM days, Bushcraft experiences and performing arts days which bring schools across the Trust together. Teachers throughout the Trust work in partnership and benefit from many CPD opportunities and networks.

The post will suit a teacher with experience of teaching in the inner city and upper Key stage 2. You will work closely with a great team of Year 6 teachers and teaching assistants. High expectations, determination and a passion for making a difference to the life choices for inner city children are strong prerequisites for this post. A dedicated and experienced leadership team, who put mentoring and coaching at the heart of their practice, will support the successful applicant.

The position will start from 31st August 2018.

  • has high expectations of pupil progress;
  • is passionate about education and developing a love of learning in children;
  • has the skills to work collaboratively with the teaching team
  • can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
  • is willing to embrace or bring new ideas to the school;
  • a commitment to developing their own skills.
