Pupils at L.E.A.D. Academy Trust academies were treated to a free Christmas dinner to celebrate the end of term and the festive period.

Through the Trust’s Christmas meal campaign pupils have been able to enjoy a hot Christmas meal prepared especially by academy catering staff.  This is a time of celebration at the academies where children and staff can reflect and celebrate all the hard work and achievements at the end of term.

It is the third year running that L.E.A.D. Academy Trust has provided a Christmas meal across its academies. As in previous years, support has been provided through the generous donations from sponsors including ESP Play, a school playground equipment supplier based in Burnley.  Managing Director at ESP Play Andrew Wood visited children and staff at Sir Edmund Hillary Academy to experience the impact of the campaign.

Head of School at Sir Edmund Hillary Academy Debbie Eccles said:

“The children have been really excited about the Christmas lunch this year and have spent time  creating and decorating their own crowns and festive themed placemats.”

Andrew Wood, Managing Director of ESP Play, said:

“Being able to be part of this initiative is incredibly rewarding. We have worked closely with L.E.A.D. Academy Trust in supplying play areas to a number of academies across the East Midlands and Yorkshire.

“It’s so wonderful to come back into a school we’ve done some work with this year and be part of such a festive, joyful occasion. I really enjoyed meeting the staff and pupils on such a happy occasion.”

A big thank you to all of our sponsors this year

Bobby Thandi, Deputy CEO of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, said:

“It goes without saying that we are so grateful to all of our sponsors who have so generously contributed to help us provide this for our pupils.”
