The Birley Academy is looking for a Student Support Officer to work closely with pupils who face barriers to learning and engagement.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of social, emotional and attendance-related challenges, helping them to develop resilience and engage positively with school life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health difficulties.
• Supporting pupils affected by emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).
• Monitoring attendance and working with families and staff to improve engagement.
• Supporting reintegration plans and building positive relationships with pupils and families.
